Men's Basketball Fall to Barton

Men's Basketball Fall to Barton

Northwest Tech men's basketball to Barton Community College on Wednesday, 48-71.

The Mavericks got out to a quick start, going up 6-0 at the 17-minute mark. The rest of the half was a low-scoring, tough defense game. However, with Tech unable to capitalize off of turnovers, going on a scoring drought to end the half and Barton was able to extend their lead, 35-21, as the Mavs' defense let up.

In the second half, the Mavericks struggled to get anything going offensively, as Barton this time got out a quick start and quickly went up 42-23 in the first four minutes. The rest of the game would continue the same way, with Tech turning over the ball at seemingly every opportunity while Barton outworked the Mavs at both ends of the court. Amar Lane tied a season high in rebounds (7) and Keyishon Miller tied a season high in assists (4).

"We are defending the ball well," commented Coach Bradley. "However, we weren't able to put the ball in the hoop and continued to turn the ball over, and that's a recipe for disaster."

Men's basketball's next game will be on Saturday, December 9th, at Garden City Community College.
