Men's Basketball Fall to Dodge City

Men's basketball faced a tough loss against Dodge City CC Wednesday night, ending with a score of 78-82.

It was a slow start for both teams, with the score tied at 5-5 three minutes into the game. Charles Fofanah got the offense going, scoring seven points in three consecutive possessions for the Mavs. Each offense continued to go back and forth for the majority of the half, with Tech's offense stalling around the six-minute mark while Dodge City extended their lead to ten plus points. The half would finish with Northwest Tech losing 32-45.

In the second half, the Mavs struggled to cut down Dodge City's lead as they struggled to stop the Conqs in the paint. Tech would finally cut the lead down and come within one point after a 10-2 run, after which Tech was unable to take the lead after having the opportunity to tie the game with eleven seconds left in the game.

Considering the absence of three regular starters, the Mavs didn't play a bad game overall. Free throws also played a significant role, with Dodge shooting a significant amount of them (42). Charles Fofanah's standout performance with a season-high 25 points was a key factor in keeping the game close for the Mavericks.

Northwest Tech's next game will be at Hutchinson Community College on Saturday.
