Men's Basketball Win Over Seward

Northwest Tech Men's Basketball won over the Seward County Community College Saints on Saturday by a score of 89-79.

It was a slow start to scoring for both teams, with the game being largely a defensive battle, especially in the first half with both teams still in single digits six minutes in. The Mavericks slowly created a sizable lead, holding the Saints' offense to eight points for the first 10 minutes with excellent ball pressure on defense. Tech would go into halftime holding a commanding lead, 44-25.

In the second half, both teams would continue to play tough defense, with the Mavs able to extend their lead out to 25 points after a short run just past the 16-minute mark. Nevertheless, Seward County continued to compete, ramping up pressure on defense and forcing a few turnovers as they tried to fight their way back into the game. However, the Saints would come up short as the Mavericks' tough defense and consistent offense proved too much to overcome.

Looking at the stats, the Mavericks played a balanced game, spreading the points around on offense with four players in double figures. Dylan Holt in particular had a career game offensively, scoring 16 points and grabbing 8 rebounds as Seward's defense struggled to stop him in the paint.
