Men's Basketball Win Against Colby

Men's Basketball won their first conference game on Wednesday, 73-61 against Colby Community College.

Colby jumped out to a 9-0 lead against the Mavericks in the first three minutes of the game. The Mavericks quickly called a thirty-second timeout, regrouped, and went to work as they went on a 14-0 run to about the midway point of the half. Colby would then slowly fight their way back into the game, with a 30-30 tie at about the three-minute mark. the half would finish with the Mavs barely hanging on to the lead, 33-32.

The second half was a back-and-forth game, with the Mavericks unwilling to relinquish the lead to Colby. The closest Colby would get is at around the five-minute mark when the Trojans managed to tie up the game for a minute only for Northwest Tech to take the lead again with a 15-3 run to end the game.

Charles Fofanah (22 points) and Taiden Conner (18 points) led the way in scoring for the Mavericks with Conner shooting 7-7 from the free throw line while making clutch plays to keep the offense going.

 

Northwest Tech's next game will be this Saturday at Independence Community College.
