Northwest Tech men's soccer earns first Jayhawk Conference win

The Northwest Kansas Technical College men's soccer team defeated Hesston 1-0 to earn the program's first-ever Jayhawk Conference victory Tuesday night.

The goal came in the 41^st minute from freshman midfielder Alessandro Sanchez. The goal formulated off of a great through-ball from freshman Lucas Christian, which led to freshman Brad Taberner hitting the woodwork before Sanchez found the back of the net.

Defensively, sophomores Yacir Allen and Joshewa Frederick, freshman Parker Wells and Curt Richter, and sophomore goalkeeper Jarell Yapching helped the Mavs get their first clean sheet of the year.

The Mavs move to 1-1-1 on the season. They will host Otero Junior College at 4pm MT in Goodland this Friday.
