Women's Basketball Announces 2016-17 Schedule

A new era begins for Northwest Tech Women's Basketball under Head Coach Kevin Lynum, who has announced the Lady Mavericks schedule for the 2016-17 season. The Lady Mavericks will only play at the historic Max Jones Field House on eight occasions in the 26 competitions this season. 

The Lady Mavericks take on a tough road schedule following the home opener against the JV Swedes of Bethany College November 1st at 6:00pm.  The Lady Mavs will then compete in the Ambassador Classic in nearby Colby, Kansas against Tabor College JV and Bethany College JV again with games to begin at 2pm CT on November 4th and 5th.

"We are excited to face quality teams that will prepare us for the competitive Region 6 Tournament," Lynum said. 

The Lady Mavericks will take on Region 6 foe Dodge City Community College and a host of Region 9 teams with Otero Junior College, North Platte Community College, Laramie County Community College, Trinidad State Junior College, Northeastern Junior College, and McCook Community College. 

"Fortunately, we were able to schedule a team from the tough Region 6," Lynum said. "This will be a great gauge to see where our team stands amongst the region." 

The Lady Mavericks will also compete in two preseason jamborees to begin the year where they will face Region 6 programs Allen County Community College and Colby Community College on October 9th in Frisco, Texas. 

Lynum says the Lady Mavericks are ready to embark on the year ahead and they hope to fill the Max Jones Field House for the home opener November 1st.
