Lynum to Leave Northwest Tech Women’s Basketball

Following a stellar first season at Northwest Technical College, coach Kevin Lynum will be stepping down from his position as Head Women's Basketball Coach to pursue an opportunity to advance his coaching career, President Ben Schears announced on Thursday.

Lynum joined the Maverick Athletic program after a successful stint at Southwestern College and Warner University. In his only season with the Mavericks, Lynum posted a 28-2 record, and broke the schools record for wins in a single season. Lynum was also named a finalist for the WBCA J/CC National Coach of the Year and was successful in placing his entire sophomore class in NCAA DI institutions.  "Kevin is a great coach with a great heart and I will personally miss him a lot" said Schears. "He's been a great success in the short time he's been here, and we wish him all the best with his new opportunity."

Lynum's successor has been selected and will be announced in the coming days.
