Women's Basketball Falls to Butler in Competitive Matchup

Maverick Women's Basketball lost 71-60 to Butler CC on Wednesday. Butler's record was (17-3) coming into the game and (12-3) in conference play.

The difference in the game came down to points scored in the paint, with Butler scoring 44 of their 71 points in the paint, most of which came from Butler's #10 Freddie Wallace, who scored 26 of her 26 points in the paint. The Mavs on the other hand only scored 24 points in the paint. Part of the issue also came down to players getting into foul trouble early on in the game.

A couple of notable performances for the Mavericks include: Alexzandria Thompson scoring 17 points while shooting five for five on free throws, and Mariam Sanogo getting a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
