Women's Basketball Falls to Garden City

Northwest Tech women's basketball lost 54-92 to Garden City Community College in their last game of the semester.

The game got off to a competitive start for both teams, with the Lady Mavericks going up 12–10 four minutes into the game, with Northwest Tech shooting high-percentage shots while getting easy points cutting to the hoop. However, Garden would then go on a 15-0 run as Tech's offense started turning over the ball while taking poor shot selections instead of moving the ball around.

The second quarter continued similarly, with Garden pushing the ball down the court in transition and capitalizing off of Northwest Tech's turnovers. In addition, the Lady Broncbusters' outside shots seemed to be hitting all half, shooting (5-9) in the first quarter and (3-12) in the second. The half would end with Garden leading 55-34.

The start to the second half was slow for both teams offensively, with Garden slowly pulling away as they continued to run an efficient offense while continuing to capitalize off of Tech's turnovers. In the fourth quarter, the Mavericks' defense completely broke down as the game was all but over, with Garden running away with the win.

Overall, the key differences for the Mavs were turnovers (23) and ball movement on offense, with Garden accumulating more than twice as many assists, along with Garden just making more of their shots.

Northwest Tech's next game will be on January 3rd at Dodge City Community College.
