Jake Marshall Named Head Women's Basketball Coach

Jake Marshall has been promoted to the head women's basketball coach position. Jake served as the women's assistant coach this past season, during which he made a lasting impression on the team and those around him.

"Jake stood out this year as our assistant coach, and we are excited about what he can bring to the table as he takes the lead for the program," commented Athletic Director Rory Kling. "He has a number of high school connections from the surrounding states and has already begun recruiting Kansas kids for next year. Jake will be able to bring stability to the program not only on the court but around campus as well."

Originally hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, Marshall's coaching journey got its start in Denver, Colorado. It was there that he immersed himself in the vibrant basketball community and discovered his true passion for coaching.

Over the course of a decade, Coach Mashall's path has been marked by tireless dedication to the sport, first starting as an elementary basketball coach, then working his way up to become a high school head coach at Bear Creek High School. Subsequently, he served as an assistant head coach at Colorado Academy, followed by a tenure as an assistant coach at Columbine High School.

Most recently, Coach Marshall has served as a coach for the Colorado Premier Club AAU team in Denver, where he has helped talented and emerging basketball stars develop their skills.

As Coach Marshall begins his first season as head coach at Northwest Tech, he places a strong emphasis on defense, a hallmark of championship teams. Equally important is his commitment to building strong and lasting relationships with student-athletes, creating an environment where they can excel on and off the court.
