Maverick Wrestling Ranked #17 in NJCAA

Maverick Wrestling Ranked #17 in NJCAA

The Northwest Tech Mavericks wrestling team has gotten off to a 2-2 start and in the latest NJCAA rankings, December 5, 2016, the Mavericks were ranked #17 in all of NJCAA DI, the highest ranking of any Kansas team. Two individual Mavericks found themselves ranked in the top 8 of their individual weight classes.

Dominque Evans a Medical Assistant student and a returning national qualifier at 149 found himself ranked 8th in the latest rankings.  Dominique is 10-5 on the season, which includes an undefeated record in dual meets and against NJCAA competition.

Odgerel Batkhishig a freshman in Communications Technology was ranked 3rd in the latest NJCAA rankings.  Odgerel an international student from Mongolia has been on a tear in the first half of the season winning the Cowboy Open, placing second at the UNC Open, and placing 4th at the Nebraska Kearney Holiday Inn Open.

The Mavericks will take on Concordia University (NAIA) in Nebraska this Friday.
