Ball and Banning are sole runners in Denver

DENVER, CO: The Northwest Kansas Technical College Cross Country Team competed in their fourth meet of the season at Washington Park in Denver, CO. The meet was hosted by Metro State University. Once again, only two men competed. They were Jameslee Banning from Burden, KS (first year Electrical Technology), and Jordan Ball from Bolivar, MO (first year Automotive Technology).

The 5th Annual Roadrunner Invitational was a large event hosting schools from 5 states including Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, Texas, and South Dakota. With the large number of student athletes, there was a very high level of competition on both the men's and women's divisions. This meet was also open to "all comers" and there were many unattached and local club teams that choose to run.

There were 153 finishers for the Men's Division, and 143 finishers in the Women's Division, making this the largest meet Tech has attended. The winning time for the 8-kilometer race was 25:24 by an unattached athlete. The University of Colorado, Colorado Springs was the Men's Division winner. An athlete from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs won the 6-kilometer women's race in a time of 22:35. Colorado Mesa University claimed the Women's Title.

Jordan Ball finished the 8-kilometer course in a time of 33:48 placing 142nd. Jamslee Banning, battling a twisted ankle ended up finishing with a time of 34:53 placing 147th.
