After Head Women's Basketball Coach Brock Kimball accepted a position at Morehead State University to coach alongside Coach Cayla Petree again, Northwest Tech was in search of its next Head Women's Basketball Coach to take over the program. After opening the position and conducting interviews, current Assistant Coach Annie Kassongo was promoted to Head Coach. Athletic Director Rory Kling said, "I've been impressed by Kassongo's work ethic and the continuity she has had with the athletes over the past 2 years. She is always asking questions and is willing to step up and help throughout campus which is what we expect from our coaching staff. We look forward to seeing her being able to build upon what Coach Kimball and her self have built already with the program."

Annie Kassongo joined the Northwest Kansas Technical College staff in the 2019-2020 season as an Assistant Coach under Brock Kimball. She will enter her first year as a Head Coach.
