Mavs Compete at Texas Tech
Northwest Tech's short-distance runners traveled to Lubbock, TX, on Friday, where they competed in the Corky/Crofoot Shootout hosted by Texas Tech University.
In the 100-meter dash, the Mavericks had four runners, with Kobey Taylor leading the way, finishing 41st with a time of 10.80 seconds. Not far behind was Emilio Blackbourne, placing 48th with a time of 10.89 seconds. Victor Karmee and Tyrik Edwards also competed, finishing 69th and 70th, respectively, with times of 11.41 and 11.53 seconds.
In the 400-meter dash, Victor Karmee competed, finishing 40th with a time of 54.38 seconds.
Jarbirey Carter placed 14th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.47.
The Mavs also had a 4x100-meter relay, where they placed 5th overall with a time of 42.04 seconds. The relay included Kobey Taylor, Kendrick Jones, Emilio Blackbourne, and Joseph Muzenda.
Track & Field's next meet will be this Friday at the Region 6 Outdoor Championships hosted by Pratt Community College.
