Men's Wrestling Finish 13th at NJCAA Championships

Council Bluffs, IA – Northwest Tech Wrestling returns after competing at the NJCAA Wrestling Championships on Friday and Saturday. Men's wrestling placed 13th (68 points) with two All-Americans, Otgonbayar Batsuuri (175lbs) placing 1st and Lazaro Crespo (184lbs) placing 4th. Women's wrestling would place 17th, with Tech's lone female wrestler, Citori Bosserman, scoring two points.

Statement from Head Coach Chris Guillot:

"What a great year with a great group of young men! We are getting closer to our goal, and this is the group of young men that can build a culture. Winning is different from culture, which you see when you watch Division I, II, III, NAIA, Jr. College, and even high school. And one thing really showed this weekend: the teams that win titles and hunt for trophies year after year have a culture! If we are going to win a trophy as a team, we need to build a culture, not just produce All-Americans and National Champs. The top teams all have one thing in common, and that’s a culture. I believe we are close, but as the deep-thinking, growth-oriented person I am, I evaluate, analyze, and adjust so I can execute change; that time has started again. Change is coming from within to make a better plan as I continue to grow in this area as a leader. My amazing wife and life partner, Lisa, of 34 years, and I got really deep tonight talking through some observations and adjustments.

I know I’ve never believed in a team more than this one. We have the nucleus to strive to be great! It's time to get back to work. Thank you Northwest Tech, I am so grateful you hired me and gave me the opportunity and time to grow as a head wrestling coach."
