
FHNW Hires Chris Armstrong
After a late departure from previous Head Coach Honne, Chris Armstrong has been hired to take over the Fort Hays Tech Northwest softball program as the new head coach.
Armstrong, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, began his collegiate journey at Victor Valley Community College in Victorville, California, where he attended from 1998 to 2000. During his time at Victor Valley, he was involved in football, wrestling, and baseball. Armstrong later transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he continued to play football and baseball.
From 2002 to 2007, Armstrong worked as the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach and Head JV Wrestling Coach at Canyon Springs High School. He then went on to serve as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Desert Pines High School from 2007 to 2012. Following that, Armstrong took on the role of Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Bonanza High School from 2012 to 2015. From 2015 to 2019, Armstrong was the Head JV Wrestling Coach and Assistant Wrestling Coach at Green Valley High School, where his team won four State Championships.
